The following message was sent to CCSD21 MIDDLE SCHOOL families only through ParentSquare, the district’s notification tool. Middle school families that did not receive this message should contact their school’s main office to ensure their contact information is up to date.

Dear middle school families,

At its regular meeting on Thursday, March 18th, the Board of Education authorized the return to a full five days of in-person learning for middle school students currently enrolled in the in-person hybrid program. This transition will take place Monday, April 12, 2021.

In order to accommodate all in-person students at the required minimum of 3 feet of social distancing in regular classroom settings and 6 feet during lunch and active Physical Education, the district will need to replace a significant portion of the two-person tables and other classroom furniture currently in use with smaller one-person tables. Those tables have been ordered and we are awaiting confirmation of their expected delivery date.

In addition, middle schools continue to work through significant logistical challenges around ensuring minimal social distancing requirements in lunch periods.

The district is reviewing the requests of families who wish to transfer from the Distance Learning Academy back to full in-person attendance and will contact families if and when we are able to grant those requests.
