Dear Riley Community,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. I hope you enjoyed your summer and were able to spend time with family and friends. I know all our staff here at Riley is looking forward to returning to school and have been busy planning for an exciting year of learning with our students.
On a personal note, I’m thrilled to be back at Riley. I am looking forward to my first year as Principal of such a great school. Previously, I’ve been a teacher in district 21 at Riley and Poe, a Learning Coach at Riley, and, most recently, the Assistant Principal at Cooper Middle School. Hopefully, your students are just as enthusiastic as I am for the school year to begin. My wife teaches 3rd grade, and we have an incoming kindergartener and 3rd grader at home. All 4 of us are excited to get the school year started. Right now, though, they’re all soaking up the last few weeks of summer.

Monday, August 20 Meet the Teacher and Supply Drop Off 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Monday, August 20 PTO Ice Cream Social 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Wednesday, August 22 First Day of Class (1st-5th Grade) 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Thursday, August 23 First Day of Class (Kindergarten) 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM or 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Thursday, September 6 Curriculum Night 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
As we start a new school year, please make sure to visit our school website, Facebook, and Twitter pages. They are routinely updated and include important information including the school handbook, online registration, school activities, and lunch menus.
We hope to see you on August 20 at our Supply Drop Off and Ice Cream Social event. This is a great time to drop off your school supplies, meet our staff and PTO, and socialize with friends.
